Timesheet

Log the time you spend on projects and tasks — the source of truth for reporting, resourcing, and profitability.

Your timesheet is where you log the time you spend on projects and tasks. Keeping it up to date helps your team understand project progress, review resourcing accuracy, and track profitability clearly.

What you can do here

  • Log time — record time against your projects and tasks for each day. Click into the timesheet, select the relevant task, and adjust the time to reflect what was actually spent. Use the project filter to search for specific tasks.
  • Track time as you work — start a timer against a task in the Tasks detail menu and Trellis logs the time automatically when you stop it, so you don't have to remember what you spent the afternoon on.
  • Switch your view — choose between Day, 3 days, 4 days, or full Week to zoom in on today or out to review the whole week.
  • Log across time zones — every entry captures the time zone it was logged in, which keeps your records accurate if you're travelling or working with a distributed team.
  • Log on behalf of a team member (Owners and Admins) — switch to another member's timesheet from the member selector to log or adjust time on their behalf. Useful when someone's on leave or new to the platform.
  • Log time on leave days — if you need to be online during a period of leave, you can still log time against your projects as normal.

Speed up your logging with Smart logging

Smart logging pulls suggestions from what you've been working on and the tools you already use, so your timesheet is partly filled in before you start. Less manual entry, better accuracy on where your time actually went.

Open the Smart logging panel from your timesheet to see what's available.

Recent tasks

Trellis surfaces the tasks you've most recently touched at the top of the Smart logging panel. Click one to log time against it directly — no searching required. Handy for the tasks you're actively moving between during the day.

Import from Google Calendar

If you use Google Calendar, you can pull your calendar events directly into your timesheet as time log suggestions. Trellis matches each event to the most likely Trellis task, so you can review and confirm rather than log from scratch.

1
Go to Settings → Connected apps and connect your Google Calendar.
2
Return to your timesheet and open Smart logging.
3
Choose the range you want to import from — Today, Yesterday, This week, or Last 7 days. Trellis pulls in the matching events.

* Project membership required. Logging, editing, or deleting time against a task needs membership of that task's project from every role — Owners and Admins included. Trellis offers to add you when you hit one.

Logging time on a project requires you to be a member of that project, so a workspace role on its own isn't enough. The user whose time is being logged also needs a rate card and salary set on their workspace profile. If either is missing, the timesheet will prompt you to fill in the details before you can log time.
