Your roadmap is a high-level list of the ideas, goals, and initiatives that could shape your project's future direction. It captures key milestones, goals, and initiatives, giving your team a clear picture of where the project is heading and the opportunity to contribute to its direction.
Where the Timeline handles scheduled deliverables with dates and dependencies, the roadmap is looser: things like "explore SSO in Q3" or "revisit onboarding" live here, alongside real target dates when you have them. Roadmaps are a great place for facilitating discussion and prioritisation of potential tasks and initiatives.
Use the roadmap to communicate long-term plans, align on priorities, and map out future ideas and opportunities for the project. By maintaining an up-to-date roadmap, everyone can understand both current objectives and what's planned next.
Adding a roadmap to a project
By default projects don't show a Roadmap tab. Add one by selecting the plus icon at the end of your project menu. Once you've added it, select Add New to create your first roadmap item.
The roadmap is designed to stay high level. Each item captures a title, priority, status, target date, and labels. If you need to add further detail — such as notes from a meeting — open the item to add a rich-text description where you can @-mention teammates or drop in images and files.

* Project membership required. Members, Contributors, and Viewers can only open a project they've been added to, and every starred write needs membership from every role — Owners and Admins included. Trellis offers to add you when you hit one. Roadmap itself is only available on the Enterprise plan.
Roadmap is Enterprise-only. On the Enterprise plan it's available to everyone with project access, with two layers of permissions. Owners, Admins, and Editors have full control including editing and deleting any item. Members and Contributors can add and edit any roadmap item, but can only delete items they created themselves. Viewers can only edit and delete items they created themselves — everything else is read-only. Contributors and Viewers also can't attach labels, since labels are a shared workspace concept.
