Rate cards are the foundation of quotes and project profitability tracking in Trellis. Each team member should be assigned a rate card and salary as part of their profile.
The rate card sets what you charge clients for their time. The salary is what it costs you to employ them. The gap between the two is your profitability — and if both are entered, Owners, Admins, and Editors see it surface in project reporting: the Profitability chart on Project overview and the Project profitability column on All projects. The Cost to business column stays Owner and Admin only.
Creating a rate card
Select New rate card, then set a name, hourly rate, description, and colour so it's easy to identify later. Once created, assign it to your team via Settings → Members → Edit member — a rate card only starts influencing quotes and margins once someone is using it.
Tip
Managing existing rate cards
Click any rate card to open it and edit its details, or use the three-dot menu next to it to delete. You'll be asked to type delete to confirm before removal.
